Our Ways of Leading, A Talk by Philippine Coach Chot Reyes

Yesterday was truly an inspiring day for me, first of all I feel healthy na, wala na kong asthma and second I attended one of the most inspiring talks I've ever attended. The talk started with an opening speech from our Country Manager Rajendra Pangrekar then followed by an introduction of the guest speaker Coach Chot Reyes. I knew Coach Chot from the basketball camp that my youngest brother JO attended, he made me join the free throw game which was featured on the Basketball show back then, unfortunately for me, I didn't wear basketball attire on that day instead I was wearing brown shoes, slacks and polo which was very uncomfortable for me to play in but still I played the game and finished third despite slipping several times when running to get the ball after shooting live on tv. Well, going back to talk, he started with a saying about "showing up", showing up simply means giving yourself 50% chance to succeed. Then he continued by telling stories about his success and failures when he started coaching at a young age of 29. There were also clips from his players about his coaching and leadersjip style, overall I was very impressed with his talk considering he is a coach and all he knows is basketball, but was I wrong, he knew alot about leadership not only in sports but in office settings and in life.
Now, I feel honored and privileged to be able to learn from one of the best coach in the Philippines. With that talk, I feel like I can become a good leader through being a great manager, director, vice president and president in the future for Ericsson and I will become a great basketball coach when I retire from work.

What's Up JP!!!

I'm still sick, have been sick since last week because of dust from transferring to our new building in Ericsson. Hirap pa naman ng inaasthma, ubo ng ubo sa work at ang hirap matulog tapos haluan mo pa ng sipon. Tomorrow may game pa naman kami versus DMPI, lalaro ako no matter what. I was walking at Adidas Sports Camp and saw their gym, so I walked in then coach Bong approached me and showed me around, I like their training program because not only do you become physically fit but also you become a well rounded athlete unlike other gyms which focuses on strength and building body mass. I like my body the way it is just need to develop my abs once again though. I'll give the Adidas gym a try and maybe enroll there to be able to work out regularly. Nagemail din ABL (Ateneo Basketball League) sakin, hopefully I can join together with my Ateneo teammates, kung sinong teammates at team di ko pa alam. Hopefully magchampion naman kami this time. I will get ready for the upcoming ABL season and hopefully be a key factor for my team.

Ledesma Hands Sabado Knights Its Second Loss

After a moral boosting victory for the Sabado Knights Team, they were routed to a 86 - 45 score by Team Ledesma. It was very demoralizing for the Sabado Knights team as they commited alot of turnovers for the game. With this loss, the Sabado Knights have a 1 - 2 slate in which they need to sweep all their remaining games.

Sabado Knights wins!!!

After losing an intriguing match, the Sabado Knight's team regrouped and won against Tae team 52 - 38 to post a 1 - 1 record. Cholo Carino led the team with 13 points and JP Pangilinan added 11 of his own who clobbered Tae team on the 4th quarter. With the 3 point play of JP Pangilinan the Sabado Knights team never looked back as the Tae team were completely outplayed in the 4th quarter. Cholo Carino said after the game "yung nagpanalo talaga sa atin yung crucial 3 pointers ni Miko at ni Juni which tied the game at the end of 3rd quarter". Joey Merin said "hanep c JP, siya yung gumawa nung 4th quarter nung kailangan ng points at nashoot niya lahat ng crunch time free throws niya". This was the first game for Sabado Knight's star center Joey Merin who posted decent numbers with 4 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block while the Sabado Knight's X Factor players Miko Sabado posted 8 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal and Juni Antonio posted 3 points and 3 rebounds. Stephen Cate was his usual self for Sabado Knights who contributed at both ends of the floor with staggering defense and rebounds and providing 9 points for the team. JP Pangilinan said "this is a great game for us everybody did well but we still need more in order to make it to the playoffs".
