The Road to Championship (part 1)

This was the last season of the New York Noks formerly known as Choopuppies together as a team in the IAC. With new recruits Roy Rollan (V BS ECE), Pitt Santiago (V BS ECE) and Jopoy Pandaraoan (V BS CS), the New York Noks is expecting nothing less than a championship in the Seniors C division. With favorites Team Nutballs and Bearwolves in the same division, the New York Noks were in for a tough battle through out the 2005 - 2006 season.

The first game of New York Noks were up against Team Pasas being led by Stephen Cate (IV BS ECE). In the first quarter, the Noks started out strong with a 3 pointer from Jopoy Pandaraoan and quick scoring of JP Pangilinan (V BS ECE) and Rod Coronel (V BS ECE). Stephen Cate of team Pasas kept the game close ending the first quarter with the Noks leading by 5. The second quarter was a lop sided quarter with JP Pangilinan doing the damage with back to back triples to keep team Pasas at bay with an 8 point lead to end the half. The third quarter proved to be different one for the New York Noks as the Pasas bench came back with 3 triples to end the quarter and cut the lead into two going into the final quarter. The final quarter proved to be closed until the end, with Stephen Cate continuing his scoring and rebounding evry ball that came his way but Rod Coronel came up with key rebounds and JP Pangilinan drove to the basket with the score tied and scored plus one to give the Noks a 3 point lead. Rod Coronel made a stunning defensive play with 30 seconds to go and Miko Sabdao held on to the ball and sank the crucial 2 free throws to win the game for NY Noks. JP Pangilinan led all scorers with 16 points 4 rebounds 4 steals and 1 assist, Rod Coronel added 8 points 10 rebounds and 2 steals, Jopoy Pandaraoan paced the team with 5 points and 3 rebounds and Miko Sabado was his usual self with 2 points 5 rebounds 3 assists 2 steals and 1 block while Stephen Cate did everything for his team with 11 points 2 rebounds and 1 block. JP Pangilinan said "masya ako kase we started the season with a winning note" Rod Coronel said "tuloy tuloy na ito, kaya namin magchampion".
