After 15 straight set backs, dating back from the previous IAC basketball season, the Choopuppies Reloaded formerly known as Choopuppies from previous year, has finally broken its losing streak. The Choopuppies Reloaded team together with newly recruit Rod Coronel (IV BS ECE) has finally won its first game. With the 2004 - 2005 IAC Championship season hanging in the balance, the Pangilinan lead squad never looked back as they never trailed the ball game against Team UY, a team mostly composed of third year students. JP Pangilinan (IV BS ECE) led all scorers with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 steals for the Choopuppies Reloaded while Rod Coronel took care of the rebounding department with an astounding 20 rebounds to go along with 6 points, 3 steals and 3 blocks and Miko Sabado (IV BS ECE) controlled the game with his usual all around play with 3 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. The final tally was 35 - 28. Team UY gave Choopuppies Reloaded a scare when it came back in the 4th quarter with 6 straight unanswered points from their star player but fortunately for Choopuppies Reloaded JP Pangilinan held his nerve and came back with a heartbreaking 3 pointer which pulled the game away from Team UY. JP Pangilinan said after the game "alam kong kami yung underdog going into this game kaya binigay ko na lahat lahat at swerte namin ay nanalo kami". Playing coach and point guard Miko Sabado said "ito na ang confidence booster namin going into next season, sana magtuloy-tuloy na toh, alam ko naman na kaya namin manalo". Choopuppies Reloaded is the number 80 seed in a tournament composed of 82 teams and their opponent Team UY is one of the top 64 teams which was highly favored to win. With the win, Choopuppies Reloaded moves to the final 64 were they will face the Sophomores Champion squad.
